Geauga County Public Library Board of Trustees
Geauga County Public Library is a separate political subdivision. It is not part of county government. The Library Board has no taxing authority and must have the Board of County Commissioners place ballot issues before the voters on behalf of the Library in the nineteen communities in its service district.

The Geauga County Public Library has a seven-member Board of Trustees which is the governing body authorized by the State of Ohio to establish policies and develop an annual budget. Board members represent the citizens’ interest while promoting the highest level of library service appropriate to the community, in accordance with state law.

Members of the Board of Library Trustees are appointed for seven-year terms alternately by the Geauga County Commissioners and the Common Pleas Court judges. Board members serve without remuneration.
